Title

But Are You Listening?

Scripture
He said to them, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
(Mark 4:9)
Devotional
Nearly twenty times throughout the scriptures we hear this phrase, "He who has ears to hear." There is at least one conclusion to which we can arrive; something is being said. No one will ever stand before the judgment seat of Christ and be able to say, "I did not know, nobody told me." Some surely will say, "I did not listen" or "I did not believe," but I did not hear will not be a valid excuse for sin. The message is being proclaimed throughout the world by ministers of the Gospel and teachers of God's Word. We are instructed clearly in the book of Romans, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."[1] The Word of God is being spoken. The question is, "Are you listening?" Are you listening with an ear toward obedience?
