Title

The City's Hope Is The Church

Scripture
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.
(Proverbs 11:10)
Devotional
The hope of your city is not going to be found in its government officials. It is going to be found in its churches. It is good to have godly city government and civic leaders, but what changes cities for the better will be the prayer and services of God's people, His church. I am not talking about protesting condemnation or numerical power. I am talking about true godliness, serving, reaching out, loving our neighbors and supporting our city's good endeavors. For too long, churches have often been more about protesting than edifying. Instead of winning the war over apparent enemies, we need to be about the business of winning over people to Christ. Remember, it is called the "Good News." This is a great way for wickedness to perish, by winning those whom we may deem as wicked to the Savior of mankind. We do have the right answers.
