Title

Opportunity to Pray

Scripture
Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
(Luke 6:12)
Devotional
Before every major event of Christ's life, we will find Him praying. Here before He choose His disciples and in the garden before His crucifixion. If the Son of God needed to pray with regard to the decisions of His life, how much more are we to pray when facing life's choices? It is appropriate for this to be the text of today's devotions in my life because sleep left me last night. I awakened at 2 am and could not sleep. I had a choice to make, I could toss and turn attempting to sleep or take the opportunity to pray. I choose the latter. Whenever I awaken in the middle of the night, I see it as God calling me to pray. I do not have to struggle and wonder about what to pray. I pray for those things God puts on my mind and heart. And when morning comes I find myself refreshed and filled with anticipation of God answering my prayers.
