Scripture
And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
(Psalm 39:7)
Devotional
Let me likewise ask you believer. "What are you waiting for?" What is keeping you from serving the Lord with all your heart and all your might? Are you waiting to reach a certain level of education, financial stability or age? Are you placing your hope for the future in these? We are to say with the psalmist, "My hope is in You." If there is to be any waiting in our lives, it is to be waiting on the Lord, not ourselves. I am not at all indicating that we neglect goals and dreams, but I am saying let us serve the Lord in and through our endeavors. As you seek an education or a level of financial stability, serve the Lord. As you learn and acquire an understanding of the scriptures, share what you know. Serve the Lord with the abilities you have and those abilities will flourish and increase. Do what you know and you will know more. Do not wait to reach a certain status or rank, put your hope in the Lord.
