Title

The Perils OF Riches

Scripture
The ransom of a man's life is his riches, but the poor does not hear rebuke.
(Proverbs 13:8)
Devotional
There are perils to success. The poor are seldom if ever held for ransom, nor are they often robbed. The wealthy are more than often approached with schemes and plots. Prosperity is marked by those who seek to defraud. On the other hand riches do have more than a few advantages. More is available to the prosperous than the impoverished: better healthcare, housing, clothing, nourishments, etc. The affluent have longer life spans and are able to accomplish much. A reason being is that poverty takes up all one's time. There have been a few influential poor. Do you know of any? Though their character is found to be untarnished and their wisdom great, as Ecclesiastes strongly implies, no one listens to a poor man.[1] Are you impoverished, seek the riches of the fallowed ground.[2] Do you have a measure of wealth, use it wisely and remember the poor and ransom your life.
