Title

It's A Matter Of Integrity

Scripture
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
(Proverbs 14:8)
Devotional
There is no greater fool than the fool who fools himself. And there are few wiser than the one who seeks understanding in his or her doings. There is one main difference between the prudent (those who handle practical matters wisely) and the fool (those who deceive, even themselves). That difference is a simple matter of integrity. Integrity holds to its truths even when no one is looking. It is confident, yet not arrogant. The fool's integrity is a at best a facade. Even though he may believe it himself, it is the fruit of deceitful labor. Sooner or later the deceit of a fool will be manifest. Can a fool change his folly? The answer is a resounding, “Yes!” If you find yourself living a lie, get accountable. Stop your foolish boasting and learn to listen at least twice as much as you talk. Proverbs furthermore instructs, “If you have been… ensnared by the words of your mouth, then do this, my son, to free yourself… Go and humble yourself.”[1]
