Title

They Are Rich Indeed

Scripture
The crown of the wise is their riches, but the foolishness of fools is folly.
(Proverbs 14:24)
Devotional
What our text doesn't say is spoken as loudly as what it does say. It does not say that the crown of the rich is their wealth. It does clearly say that riches will follow the wise. Riches are a crown and crowns are good things especially when they are readily and willingly laid at the feed of Jesus. Those without riches may struggle with riches being a crown of the wise. If I am not rich one might then ponder, I am not wise. Well here goes a shot to your ego; you are right. You may be wrong in defining riches. Riches are not always equated with finances, even though finances are usually a byproduct of riches. I know many very rich men and women who may not have an exceptional amount of financial wealth. Their riches are in their successes. Some are rich with families; others are rich in their occupation. I have two very rich brothers: one is rich in business and the other in ministry. Both lay their crown of riches at the feet of Jesus. They are rich indeed.
