Title

Sacrificial Righteousness

Scripture
To punish the righteous is not good, nor to strike princes for their uprightness.
(Proverbs 17:26)
Devotional
We are to be very slow to judge the actions and deeds of another, especially if those actions and deeds are good and upright. For example, be very careful judging what another gives or how they may choose to serve. It may be true that they cannot afford to give what they are giving or have the time to do what they are doing. They may be giving sacrificially. God knows and He rewards. Remember the story of the Widow's Mite? Jesus said of her, "Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had."[1] Let us therefore never judge good as evil or evil as good. Instead, give wise counsel and godly encouragement. In so doing you will reward the righteous and applaud uprightness.
