Its Not Right, Its Just a Fact

Scripture
All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him.
(Proverbs 19:7)
Devotional
We may not like it. We may think that it is unfair. Nevertheless it is the sinful nature of man at its norm. Poverty has truly many natural disadvantages. There are several lessons to be learned from this one proverb. The first being: do not judge a man's wisdom by his wealth. The second is that your wisdom will be judged by your wealth. Therefore, unfortunately, if you want to be heard by the average man, you will have to have a certain amount of success or wealth. In the book of Ecclesiastes, the ninth chapter, there is a story about a poor man who delivered a city by his wisdom, "Yet no one remembered that same poor man."[12] Why? The reason being is that he was a poor man. I am not justifying those who ignore a man's wisdom because of his financial status; I am communicating a truth about the nature of mankind.
