Title

The Time Is At Hand

Scripture
And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.”
(Revelation 22:10)
Devotional
Like the end of a day, the end of a year closes a page of our lives and a time in history. With each passing year we are drawing closer to the day when the prophecies of the Book will come to fruition. As we have recently celebrated the first advent of Christ, we are about to experience the second. True, no man knows the day or the hour of Christ’s return; nevertheless, “the time is at hand.” If you are reading this, our final devotion for this year, Christ has either not yet returned, or He has granted you grace of days. With that grace let us live our lives as if Christ’s return was imminent. Let us not waste a day of this coming New Year. Let us begin it soberly, not making promises we cannot keep, but simply doing our best to do the things we know to do. If you endeavor to make changes in your life and fall down, get back up. Do not quit because of setbacks or failures. Live each day and hour of your life to the fullest. Live each New Year as if, “the time is at hand.”
Thought For The Night

Defining: “Time is at hand”: Here is what the Scriptures say, “We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation,” 2 Corinthians 6:1-2.

Referencing: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near,” Revelation 1:3.

Applying: I cannot encourage you enough to read through the Bible in 2007. Start first thing in the morning. It will be the first day of the New Year and the first day of the rest of your life.
