What To Extol

Scripture
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
(Proverbs 31:30)
Devotional
This proverb is simple, clear and true. Those who realize it will not be fooled by beauty and charm. Charm can easily be put on and physical beauty is a temporal state, but godliness has an eternal beauty and a sincerity that is core in its possessor. Charm is charming, but godliness is goodness to the core. The beauty of one who fears the Lord is a quiet strength and wholesomeness in every realm of life. The fear of the Lord is clean, pure and righteous. It is a treasure and a fountain of life. Learn to look pass the charm and not be enticed by mere beauty. "Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”[1]
