Title

Let Us Do Justly And Receive Mercy

Scripture
The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice.
(Proverbs 21:7)
Devotional
There is always room for forgiveness—always. Nevertheless if God’s mercy is not sought, justice must inevitably prevail. Someone has to pay the price for sin, either the sinner or the Savior. To turn from sin to Christ is to do justice and receive mercy. Not to do so is to miss mercy and receive justice. We are clearly warned, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”[1] We cannot perpetually continue in our sin that grace may abound.[2] We must turn from our sins because grace has abounded. The wages of sin is always death.[3] Every time we sin something or someone has to die, again either the sinner or the Savior. There is always a price to be paid for our transgressions—always. Therefore, “[4]Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die?” The violence of the wicked will inevitably destroy them. Let us not be among them.
