Title

More Than The Soul of Your Foot

Scripture
Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared? So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent.
(Proverbs 6:28-29)
Devotional
By the trickery of man, one can walk on hot coals and not have his feet seared, but by the judgment of God there is a cause and affect for sin. We cannot sin and be innocent of our sin. The wages of sin is death.[1] Every time we sin something dies. Granted Christ has forgiven our sins by His own death. He had to die because of our sin. Therefore there is always a consequence for sin. Even forgiven sin can scar and maim. God's grace will allow sin's scars to remain as a reminder of sin's cost. Therefore let us run from sin as one would run from a fire or harm's way. When even the thought of sin arrives, flee it. When enticed by anther to compromise, run. Whether it is the lust of the flesh or the pride of life that tempts you, realize that you cannot walk on these hot coals and not have your soul seared.
