Title

To Love Is A Choice

Scripture
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.,
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
Devotional
Love is a choice we make. If we chose these attributes we have chosen to love. If we keep them, the love we do have will increase. Love is more, much more than romance. It is the manliest of traits, yet the most gentle quality of femininity. It reflects the essence of God. "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."[1] We would do well to measure the level of our love by these few short verses of scripture. Am I falling short in behavior, thoughts or patience? Am I keeping hope alive and enduring the everyday trials of life? We would do well to regularly read through these characteristics of love either affirming or correcting them in our relationships, especially the marriage relationship. At the very least remembering, "Love never fails."
