Title

Show And Be Honorable

Scripture
Do not forsake your own friend or your father's friend, nor go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity; better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.
(Proverbs 27:10)
Devotional
We are to know who to honor and who to turn to in a time of need. We are to honor those who are honored by those that we honor. If my father or brother honors, you, I honor you. If you are my father or brother's enemy, you are my enemy. Nevertheless the proverb is clear, "Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away." Therefore the conclusion is evident, let us not only honor those worthy of honor, but let us be honorable in the sight of our friends, neighbors and families. Let us not forsake each other, especially those of our household, church and communities. When calamity strikes and it will strike, make sure that you have built an honorable relationship with those nearby. Remember, "In the day of your calamity; better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away." May I add, better yet if they are both nearby and you have proven yourself honorable.
