Title

Minister These Things

Scripture
We exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
(1 Thessalonians 5:14)
Devotional
"Warn, comfort, uphold and be patient," these are the duties of every believer toward his or her family and fellow believers. These four directives are crucial to the body of Christ. Not to do them is to put at jeopardy not only those we are to love but ourselves as well. Let us not neglect this duty and let us not reject those who would exercise them toward us. Let us be quick to receive warning and patient in giving it. Let us be quick to comfort and slow to require it and let us be quick to uphold without having to be upheld ourselves. Nevertheless, when we need to be strengthened, let us receive them with gratitude. With whom are you rightly related to warn, comfort and uphold? Do you have the patience to do so? Likewise are there people in your life who have the liberty to minister these things to you? And can you be patient with them?
