Title

The Value of The Kingdom

Scripture
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
(Matthew 13: 44)
Devotional
When we clearly recognize and understand the value of the kingdom of God, forsaking the best this world has to offer is no sacrifice at all. Thus, there is no sacrifice to kingdom living. That’s like saying I’ve really made a sacrifice; I gave up my tent for a mansion. Even when we do make what seems to be a sacrifice for the things of God, we shortly see that we did nothing more than trade up. Obedience to God and His word is always equal to finding a field with a hidden treasure. When we learn this principle, we will with joy relinquish the temporal for the eternal, the good for the best, and possessions for treasures. Consider the tithe. It may seem to be a sacrifice giving up ten percent of our income. Yet, when we realize that by doing so, God will open the windows of heaven and poor out treasures of blessing.
