Title

God Does Not Grade On the Curve

Scripture
The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less . . . when you give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves.
(Exodus 30:15)
Devotional
There is equality in the Kingdom of God. The same price for sin is required for all people. God does not grade on a curve. The same standard is required for the rich as well as the poor. When we apply different standards for salvation we walk on dangerous ground. There is only one way to achieve salvation, and that is by placing our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus. He is the only way for all people. There are not different roads for different folks. There is only one way and that way is Christ Jesus. It matters not if you are rich or poor, educated or uneducated; the price required for the sin of every man is the finished work of Calvary.

There are no short cuts nor is there any other belief system for salvation. We must believe in Christ. Jesus Himself has said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (1)

Text For The Day
Exodus 30:15: “The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less…when you give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves.”
Thought For The Day
“Trust wholly in Christ; rely altogether on His sufferings; beware of seeking to be justified in any other way than by His righteousness. Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is sufficient for salvation. There must be atonement made for sin, according to the righteousness of God. The Person to make this statement must be God and man.” John Wycliffe, (1328-1384), English church reformer whose teachings played an important role in the Protestant Reformation.

Morning Study Guide
Defining:  To be atoned is to be reconciled; that is brought back into good standing with God. Atonement is simply “at-one-ment” with your Creator.

Referencing: “The rich and the poor have this in common, the Lord is the maker of them all,” Proverbs 22:2.

Applying: Realize that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). He cares for people. Therefore, do your best to care for them as well.
