Attend to Me

Scripture
Attend to me, and hear me; I am restless in my complaint, and moan noisily.
(Psalm 55:2)
Devotional
When we are hurting, we need to know that God is not only aware, but that He is there and attentive to our needs. Like a little child that asks to be held when hurt or ill, we want to be held and comforted by our Heavenly Father. No matter what the age or level of maturity, we are God’s children, and children desire to be lovingly nurtured.
It is okay to ask for comfort from the Comforter. When you find yourself restless, enter into His rest. When you find yourself troubled, seek His deliverance. And when you find yourself moaning because of life's hurts and difficulties, call on the Comforter. "The Spirit . . . helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."(1) It is fitting for a child in need to say, "Attend to me."
