Catching Men

Scripture
Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men,”
(Mark 1:17)
Devotional
Jesus never called us to a personal salvation only. He calls us to be His disciples. If the only reason we come to Christ is for ourselves, we miss the blessings of discipleship. Christ calls us to a totally surrendered life. We, as the first disciples are to surrender all to Him: our occupations, our families, and our lifestyles. Following Christ transforms our lives. Instead of earning a living, we work unto the Lord. Instead of raising a family, we train our heritage. Instead of building a business, we build people. This is the “Fishers of men” principle-caring for others as much as we care for ourselves, being a giver instead of a taker. To be a “Fisher of men,” we must learn to become good bate. Our lives are to be inviting. People should want what we have. This we learn from Christ.
