A Loving Father To a Wise Son

Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.
(1 Chronicles 22:13)
Devotional
David, a man after God’s own heart, spoke these words to his son Solomon, the wisest of Israel’s kings. We therefore would be wise to hear them with an ear of obedience. In essence, David instructed his son, saying, If you want to prosper in this life, obey the Word of the Lord. Be diligent to do all that you are instructed to do by it. Furthermore, my son, do not violate faith. When life seems against you, do not fear nor be alarmed. David, as a father, had prepared for his son to continue the work of the Lord. He laid a strong foundation in Solomon’s life. Solomon, as a wise, obedient son, heeded the instruction of his father. Do you see the wisdom? Do you understand the responsibility of parenting? Do you fathom the fruit of a loving father and an obedient son? If you do, then you too can prosper.
