Title

A Key To Good Health

Scripture
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.
(Proverbs 3:7-8)
Devotional
Egoism, the excessive preoccupation with one's own happiness and interests, is bad for your health. Fearing God and doing right on the other hand brings a well-being. Consider the self-centered; you will inevitably find that they are forever fighting some sort of ailment or infirmity. They will furthermore be quick to inform you of their many dilemmas. It seems that those who keep their eyes of off themselves and on the things of God are seldom infirmed. Why is it that those who fear the Lord and depart from evil are healthier and more strengthened? The answer is that with Christ centeredness comes a merry heart. Proverbs also clearly instructs, "A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones."[7] If you are thinking to yourself, "I'm righteous and I'm always sick." Maybe, just maybe, you might be wise in your own eyes.
