Be Careful Who You Reject

Scripture
He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.
(Luke 10:16)
Devotional
It is a necessity that we learn to listen intently and carefully. The scripture clearly states, “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying…” When God speaks, He speaks through His Word, His creation, and His servants. These three never contradict each other. When they do, we can be sure that it is not His Word, nor likely His creation. Thus if His servant is speaking and what he is saying does not contradict the scripture nor creation, then he is not to be rejected. However, there is another part to the equation, that is, our understanding. We are not to be ignorant of God’s creation nor especially His Word. Therefore, when you listen, listen intently, and when you speak, speak as if you are speaking the very oracles of God, because someone may be listening with an ear toward obedience.
