Title

Nobody Likes A Know-it-all, Especially God

Scripture
A scoffer does not love one who corrects him, Nor will he go to the wise.
(Proverbs 15:12)
Devotional
Have you ever met someone who speaks in condescending innuendoes? You feel as if they are always talking down to you, and what they are saying is not what they mean. No matter what the conversation, he is a master of the subject. When speaking with a scoffer it inevitability becomes a one-sided conversation. A scoffer answers his own questions, and usually before he asks them. Even if you disagree with him, he has a way of making you appear as if you agree. If you stop a scoffer in his scoffing, you have made an enemy. He most likely will get angry, or stop talking and seek someone else to justify himself. Scoffers never look for counsel; they only seek agreement. If you agree with them you are insightful, if not you are anathema. There are two rules in dealing with scoffing: do not receive it, nor do it.
