Title

What Am I Not Willing To Change?

Scripture
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.
(John 6:66)
Devotional
This walk of faith is a walk of death-death to the old sin nature. As we daily become more alive to Christ, we likewise have to die to self. This demands change. Anything that is dearer to me than Christ will cause me not to walk any farther with Him. I cannot hold on to anything other than Christ. This journey allows no baggage. I cannot hold on to the past and expect to succeed in the future. I must put aside not only my besetting sins, but my good nature. I cannot choose my own goodness. I must trade it for the goodness found only in Christ. There will be difficult things to relinquish. There will be times that Christ may require a total surrender of every aspect of our lives. Will we go back, or will we say like Peter, “Where shall we go, you have the words of eternal life.”
