Title

When Satan Stands

Scripture
NOW Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.
(1 Chronicles 21:1)
Devotional
One of the primary weapons of the enemy is fear. Satan is a great sword rattler. In our text, he just stood, and David panicked and turned from God’s protection and foolishly attempted to rely on his own strength. Here is another example: Your finances are getting in order. You are paying your bills, meeting the needs of your house, and faithfully tithing. All of a sudden, Satan stands, and you find yourself a little financially short. What do we do? We do the same as David. We count. We then fail to tithe. Do you see the parallel? Instead of taking the problem to the Lord, we rely on our own understanding and turn from the one who has been blessing us in the first place. Therefore, when Satan stands, do not flee. Stand! Never forget who is standing with you, the Lord Jesus Christ. When Satan sees Christ, he will flee.
