Devotional
There is a progression in the life of a believer. My position plus my direction equals my destination. The first step is that of faith. Faith is my position. Hebrews says, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Once we begin to show ourselves faithful, we are then able to be used by God for His good purpose. This is being sanctified, which is our direction. The third step in our progression is holiness. Holiness is our destination. Our ultimate goal is to be like Christ. As we grow in holiness, we will be more greatly used in sanctification. These, in turn, increase our faith. Spiritual progression is more than a stepping process; it is a growth process. “For in their faithfulness they sanctified themselves in holiness.”
