Devotional
Peace is much more than the absence of war. Godly peace is confidence in the midst of war. The peace of God is having the assurance that He is in total control, and that nothing can take Him by surprise. Biblical peace is not dependent of the absence of conflict or trials. The peace of God can comfort in times of distress, illness, and uncertainties. With Christ there can be peace in the thick of battle. There can be peace in rejection, failure, and setbacks. You can be at peace during times of heartache due to the actions of a rebellious child. You can be a peace in the middle of abuse, hurt and unfaithfulness. There is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still. There is not a hurt that He cannot heal. There is no obstacle so great that He is not altogether greater. Therefore with Christ we have unmeritted peace.
