The Discover the Bible devotional Bible is currently available in the New King James Version, and is uniquely ordered by “day” and not anchored to the calendar like other devotional Bibles. Each day is broken into two parts, morning and evening, with each accompanied by a devotional. The morning readings are taken from the Old Testament and Proverbs. These devotionals are designed to help one successfully apply the Scriptures to the rigors of daily life. The evening readings are from the New Testament and Psalms. These devotionals are designed to help the reader wind down from the often-overwhelming requirements of daily life and put closure to the day. Not only is this format inviting by design, it has purpose.
Dr. Tony Foglio is the author of these timeless devotions. Tony was a businessman and teacher before retiring as pastor of Sonrise Community Church in Santee, California for the past 20 years. As a businessman, pastor and father of a prodigal, you will find his life experiences make these profoundly written devotions both relevant and applicable.
Our mission at Discover the Bible is to engage readers in the Bible—God's written record and message to the world—to initiate and guide widespread transformation within individuals and the great number of those who desire a closer relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible, read in its entirety, has the power to change hearts and lives and to bring about a cultural revolution marked by widespread adherence to biblical principles.
Our team here at Discover the Bible has been working diligently to bring you a fresh approach to reading the entire word of God. We've witnessed dramatic change within churches and people when they are in the Word on a daily basis, so we're in the process of building a unique experience centered on God's word; an experience that includes not only the devotional Bible we offer now, but a whole series of value-added video online, small group companion guide, complete text available in multiple versions online, and possibly a social networking component; all working in accordance to provide insight, encouragement, accountability and inspiration along the journey.
Although these are our current plans, we all know that plans change and we fully intend to respond to reader feedback and suggestions over what we feel the reader “needs”. This is why your interaction is so important to us and vital to the future development of DiscovertheBible.com
We see the power of the Word sparking a revolution and liberating lives worldwide—and God willing, many for all eternity.
