"The Word of God prepares the person of God for the purpose God has chosen for them. I have yet to find a better method of journeying through His Word than this one year devotional.
Easy, engaging, and with rich, Scriptural depth, this is an invaluable way to truly Discover the Bible!"

"I recommend this devotional Bible because it makes the scriptures come to life in such an interesting way that it will help the readers become consistant in using it, both morning and night – as they await the soon coming of our Lord."
- Tim LaHaye- Co-author of the Left Behind series
"Since I started reading the Discover the Bible, I have missed precious few days starting with my face to the floor, almost immediately after rising in the morning. Then to my chair to spend time in Discover the Bible.
During this time my 20-yr old daughter was stricken with brain cancer. Awful stuff. You can't deal with something like this without faith. The Word says, "So then, faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God". Romans 10:17. Says nothing about having heard…only hearing. Having heard yesterday won't help today. The Discover the Bible makes it easy to read and hear daily. We speak scripture to my daughter daily...sometimes 5 times a day. Why? The Bible is spiritual medicine, used to fight spiritual battles. Satan has the power of death (Hebrew 2:14). Most people die of sickness. Hence, Satan must use sickness in his efforts. Sickness then is a spiritual tool which we must fight spiritually. I see things differently now.
Discover the Bible makes it very easy to read and hear the Word of God. It reads like a novel."

"I was raised Catholic, including 12 years of Catholic schooling. My parents instilled a solid foundation of faith and I've tried to live my life the way God wants me to. Along the way, I've slowly drifted away from organized religion. The truth is, I've rarely felt "connected" to God sitting in a church during mass. On occasion I have, when there was a particularly powerful sermon or a creative priest who made God's word come to life, but that didn't happen very often. So I quit going. It wasn't something I thought about much until I had children. My wife and I vowed we would go back to church when our children were born and 8 years later...it hadn't happened.
Over time, being "disconnected" from God and not having a relationship with Him created a void in my life. I had trouble handling difficult times without great frustration. The ability to have FAITH and TRUST that everything would be ok, because someone greater than myself would handle things, was lost. My world became smaller and more about me. It caused a lot of anxiety and stress. I wasn't even sure I believed in Him anymore. All that has changed.
Two years ago I began reading a Daily Devotional bible, along with David Coons, neighbors and friends. The format appealed to me because it made the thought of reading the bible less intimidating. Reading a few minutes in the morning and at night seemed like a great way to start and end the day. I was not disappointed! After I started reading on a daily basis, I noticed a few things happening. I enjoyed having a "scheduled" time to re-connect with God every day. I also found that reading the bible directly, without a filter, was relaxing and calming. It felt good to commit and practice that discipline. More often than not, the reading of the day spoke to me, as if it were written specifically to address something happening in my life. I found that to be powerful, helpful and re-assuring. Most importantly, the "seed" of reading the bible for 20 minutes a day grew into a relationship with God. I pray more, talk to God more, rely on Him and Trust in Him more than I ever have.
I don't have a fantastic story of transformation, but it is amazing that one simple discipline, practiced on a daily basis, can accomplish what 12 years of Catholic schooling could not!"
