Title

Holiness To the Lord

Scripture
Then they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
(Exodus 39:30)
Devotional
Holiness has always been, and will always be, the standard of the Lord. We are never called to anything less. As the crown of the priest read “Holiness to the Lord”, the crown of our hearts is likewise to read the same. The difference is that the priest had to strive for holiness through obedience to the law, which he was unable to fully accomplish. We however, are to obtain holiness through the finished work of Calvary, and that comes through obedience to the grace of God. God has graced us with the ability to obtain His standard of holiness; and He has done so through the presence of His Son in our lives. We are to walk by faith, always trusting in His grace to accomplish it. The signet of our lives is to read the same as the pure gold signet of the priest’s crown, “HOLINESS TO THE LORD”.
