He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage. (Proverbs 11:28)
It is a matter of priorities and motives. If riches are our motive and money our priority, both will fail to satisfy and bring contentment. However, if they are a means to an end and their purpose is to accomplish great and mighty exploits, you will by all means flourish. Wealth for the sake of wealth or riches for the sake of riches will not merit peace and true prosperity. Self-centered lives inevitably are miserable lives. Greed cannot be satisfied. Lust never says enough and selfishness can only hoard. Righteousness has a divine purpose behind its actions. Riches are merely byproducts of it. The righteous seek to grow and share their growth. They cannot help but bring others along with them. They are team players and credit givers. The only thing they are quick to take is the responsibility. They are accountable. They flourish because they simply endeavor to do it right.
