Title

The Prayers of The Saints

Scripture
Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to the prayer made in this place.
(2 Chronicles 6:40)
Devotional
We read in the scriptures along with Solomon that: Abraham prayed, Moses prayed, Manoah prayed, Hannah prayed, Samuel prayed, Elijah prayed, Elisha prayed, David prayed, Hezekiah prayed, Amoz prayed, Nehemiah prayed, Job prayed, Daniel prayed, Jonah prayed, the disciples prayed and above all, Jesus prayed. Allow me to challenge you to read the prayers of these and others in the scriptures. Learn from them and follow the examples of their supplications. To separate these from their prayers would be to separate them from their God. Likewise the prayers of these men and women reveal not only their hearts, but also the mighty works of God because of their prayers. Study both their physical and spiritual posture as they prayed. Listen to the substance of their answered prayers. Look for consistencies and attitudes that allowed them to be heard from heaven. There are great and powerful lessons to be learned from the prayers of the people of the Word.
