What Kind of Faith?

Scripture
This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed.
(Acts 14:9)
Devotional
Faith cannot be separated from belief. This man had the faith to be healed because he believed the message Paul was speaking. It is not difficult to trust and obey that which you believe. A question to be asked is, in what was this man placing his faith? Was it in his ability to be healed? Was it in Paul? What was the object of his faith? Can faith alone save and heal? It is obvious that any form of faith has a certain amount of power. People have done a myriad of notable things by a variety of faiths. Some believe in themselves; others believe in sciences and many believe in a diversity of deities. By these faiths man has been impacted. I personally have no doubt that this man received his healing by placing his faith in the message of Christ that Paul preached. Yes there is a certain amount of power in just about any form of faith. However, there is only one true faith and that is the faith in God that is revealed in His word, the Bible.
