Title

Adopting The Words of The Wise

Scripture
It is a pleasant thing if you keep them (the words of the wise) within you; let them all be fixed upon your lips.
(Proverbs 22:18)
Devotional
Wisdom is not discovered it is learned. The wise are those who have learned from the wise. Experience may be a great teacher, but the experience of others may be a better teacher, especially if you are willing to learn from the mistakes of others. There are many things in my life that I have learned from much wiser people than myself. They may have originated from others, but I have taken ownership of them. They now are mine. That is the wonderful thing about wisdom. It does not have to originate from you or me, but we can adopt it as our own. The greatest wisdom we can obtain is from God's Word. It is readily available to all who believe. There is therefore no shortage of wisdom, but only a shortage of those willing to receive it. Adopt the sayings of the wise. Make them a pleasant part of who you are and of your vocabulary. You will be much wiser for it.
