Scripture
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments... Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.(Psalm 112:1&3)
Devotional
Obedient faith in Christ has manifold benefits and promises. I have never met an impoverished obedient believer. They may not have what the world considers wealth and riches, but they have had great wealth and riches in such things as: peace, joy and a myriad of other godly qualities. The psalmist has told us that believer who delights in the Lord, "Whatever he does shall prosper."[42] King David likewise testified, "I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."[43] The apostle James instructs a reason for our failing to obtaining these blessings: "You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures."[44] Let us regularly ask, "Are my endeavors prospering?" If not then let us likewise ask, "do I fear the Lord; do I delight in His commands?"Daily Reading
