Scripture
God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; the Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies.(Nahum 1:2)
Devotional
Jealousy, vengeance and wrath belong to God and God alone. For us to lay claim to them is to infringe upon that which we have no right. Jealousy in man is having the fear of being supplanted. Therefore for man to be jealous he has to esteem himself higher than he ought. When we are jealous, we are attempting to lay claim to that which belongs to God. Likewise God says of vengeance, "'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord. And again,Daily Reading
