Title

I Do Not Have To Excel At Everything

Scripture
Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.
(Proverbs 22:29)
Devotional
I thank God that we do not have to excel at everything we do. I am thankful that I do not have to excel at singing, or art, or sports. I just have to excel at my work. If I do, God says, I get to stand before kings. I am convinced that God has given me the capability to excel at my work. He has given me all the talent I need, all the ability I need, and all the know-how I need. However, the desire, willingness and motivation to excel is up to me. I have the ability to succeed. I have the ability to accomplish great things for the Lord. I have the ability to prosper at whatever God calls me. Therefore, if I end up standing before the unknown, it sure is not God’s fault. Lord, let me be the man who stands before kings, and let me do so to your glory.
