Title

Do You Understand?

Scripture
Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.
(1 Corinthians 14:20)
Devotional
Most children do not understand why they have to eat their vegetables, take a bath, or go to bed. They simply do not have the ability to comprehend the value of these and many other things. This is expected in children; it is unacceptable in adults. The same applies to spiritual matters. Children do not have to understand to believe. They believe because of trust. Children have to be taught to understand. As adults, we to are to believe because of trust, however, we are required to seek understanding. Child like faith is very acceptable. Child like ignorance is not. Yet, I have found that most people do not grow up, they just grow older. Instead of growing in their understanding, they grow in malice. Because of ignorance toward the scriptures they become spiteful. Therefore, “In malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.” Do you understand?
