Title

Sluggishness, A sign Of Regression

Scripture
…Do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
(Hebrews 6:12)
Devotional
Man left to his own devices will eventually degenerate. The regression is not immediate, but it is sure. It begins as Proverbs says with, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep.” Too much rest and relaxation makes one sluggish. May I add, regression is much more rapid than progression. It is much easier to go downhill than uphill. Likewise, it is much easier to fall into a ditch than to climb out of one. Furthermore, you may have to climb out injured. Thus sluggishness should be a strong warning of a potentially dangerous incline. Therefore, learn to imitate those who have achieved through faithfulness and patience. Imitate their constant study, hard work, and habit of promptness. Duplicate their enthusiasm, commitment, and devotion. Observe and copy their manner of life, for these are those who inherit the promises.
