Title

Do What You Know

Scripture
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
(James 1:22)
Devotional
Talk is cheap, but the walk will cost you. Nothing tires me more than people I call “Word talkers.” You know them; they always want to talk about the Bible, but their lives are a mess. They know a lot about the Word, but know nothing about applying it to everyday life. They know who begot whom, yet have no idea how to manage their own home. They are quick to tell you what is wrong with everybody, but do not have a clue about relationships or obedience. “Word talkers” are seldom related to anyone but other “Word talkers.” Their main relationship with the local church is to find fault with it. They truly fall into the category of those who are only hearers of the word and not doers, deceiving themselves. Therefore, if you find yourself only talking the word and not doing it, repent and become an obedient doer.
