Title

Let Them Scoff

Scripture
Knowing this first, that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts.
(2 Peter 3:3)
Devotional
Godliness and greatness have always had their scoffers. They scoffed at Noah for building the ark. Pharaoh scoffed at the miracles of Moses. Israel scoffed at her prophets, and the Pharisees scoffed at Jesus. Times have changed, but people in general remain the same. There have always been and there will always be scoffers. However, the Bible clearly says that in the last days scoffing will reach a new height. Or should I say low? Jesus said that in the last days that, “Lawlessness will abound.” Thus the more lawless mankind becomes, the more he will scoff at godliness and true greatness. Therefore, if you desire godliness or greatness, expect scoffers to rise up against you. Nevertheless, do not be overcome nor discouraged by them. Their days are numbered; yours are eternal. They may have their day of scoffing, but you will have your days of rejoicing.
