Title

Let Your Fruit Do Your Boasting

Scripture
Better is the one who is slighted but has a servant than he who honors himself but lacks bread.
(Proverbs 12:9)
Devotional
Success, quite simply, is not based on what others think about you. Success is based on what you have achieved with regard to your God given personal goals and dreams. Sadly, some are more interested in recognition of success than the substance of success. It is more important for you and God to know your success than the whole of the world. Have you ever noticed, for example, that most boasters have little that they can honestly boast? Their claims are usually based on what they supposedly have done or what they boastfully will do. Neither has much validity. True success needs no boasting at all. The proof is in the fruit. Instead of claim what they have, or what they have accomplished, or what they are going to do. It can simply be seen. The self-honored will slight the fruit of your success. Nevertheless, “Better is the one who is slighted but has a servant than he who honors himself but lacks bread.”
