Title

Dignity and Polish

Scripture
When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house… the food… the seating of the servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.
(1 Kings 10:4-5)
Devotional
Protocol, decorum, manners and splendor matter very much. These are things that make not only a good first impression, but also a long lasting impression. When ever possible, especially when representing the things of God, we are to do so with the greatest of dignity and polish. Why do you think that great hotels, banks and businesses have luxurious entryways? They serve little value other than to introduce themselves to us in an impressive manner. How much more should the buildings we call churches represent the King of kings and the Lord of lords? Why not make our churches places of Protocol, decorum, manners and splendor? This is not to take the place of the Gospel of Christ; this is done to present the gospel to a lost and dying world. This shows that we care about people and love and honor our God. In our homes and in our churches, let us do our best to show the world that we care and that we love our God.
