Title

Do Not Judge Death

Scripture
, Elisha would become sick with the illness of which he would die.
(2 Kings 13:14)
Devotional
Elisha was the greatest worker of miracles in the Old Testament. Nevertheless, he became sick and died; as the scriptures declare, “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” We cannot equate spirituality with what seems to be failure. So would say that if Elisha was such a great man of God, why did he die? Why did he not get caught up in a flaming chariot like Elijah? This may sound trite, but “God knows!” We cannot judge Elisha by his death. Nor can we judge him by his life. There are those who judge parents by the success or failure of their children. If a child falls, we more than often blame the parents. Some would blame David for the sins of Absalom and others Samuel for the sins of his sons. If that is the case, then we have to blame Adam’s Father for his failure. Jesus Himself said, “Judge not, and you shall not be judged.”
