Title

One Man’s Testimony

Scripture
And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
(Acts 7:59)
Devotional
The apology, testimony and message of Stephen is as clear and eloquent as any message ever proclaimed. His apology was flawless. He knew and understood the law and the prophets. His testimony was that of total faith in Christ. His proclamation of the deity of Christ was a crystal clear declaration to his hostal audience. The witness of the scripture of Stephen’s faithfulness is demonstrated as we see Christ rise from His throne and stand in recognition of his martyrdom. Stephen’s conformity to the character of Christ is seen in his final words, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” His boldness and compassion is to be modeled and revered. His apology and testimony is likewise to be adopted and shared. Stephen was and is the prime example of a faithful believer and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
