Title

Futility and Fear

Scripture
Their days He consumed in futility, and their years in fear.
(Psalm 78:33)
Devotional
No matter how inviting the lives of the wicked may appear, they are lives of futility and lives filled with fear. We were created with and eternal perspective; that is mankind has an innate knowledge that there is more to life than seventy years of days. Therefore a “Christless” life is a futile life and a futile life is filled with fear. It is futile to live for only that which is temporal. It is futile live a life of passing virtues and situational morality. Life at best is vanity of vanities without the redeeming knowledge of the Son of God. The only thing worse than a nonbeliever living a life of futility and fear is a believer living with these inappropriate attributes. God has given every believer a godly purpose, but He has not given any believer a spirit of fear. If our lives are possessed with futility and fear, it would be more than wise to check our relationship with the Creator.
