Empty Streets and Filled Churches

Scripture
“On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.”
(Acts 13:44:)
Devotional
Wouldn’t it be great if your whole city came to your church next Sunday? What a wonderful logistical problem that would be! I truly believe it could and should happen soon. ?When you read the messages that Peter, Paul, and the rest of the disciples preached, they really were not all that exciting. They were however, anointed by the Holy Spirit. They had a simple combination: the Word of God and the Spirit of God. ?Today, we also have the Word of God and the Spirit of God; however, the work of God still remains. It is up to us to do His work and we cannot fail if we rely on the Word and Spirit that He gives us. ?It is said that eighty percent of the people we know will attend church with us if we ask them. I am convinced that if we invite them they will come. What do you think? Will our streets be empty and our churches be full?
