Title

When We Judge Another

Scripture
“Therefore, you are inexcusable… whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.”
(Romans 2:1)
Devotional
Because of our sin nature we will always judge others. However, often times the things we abhor the most are the very things that beset us. We have the propensity to commit the very same sins that we despise in others. Therefore, we are inexcusable when we judge because we will inevitably judge our own character. ?Understand, it is one thing to judge one’s sin, but quite another to judge the sinner. The apostle goes on, “And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?” ?Likewise, if we judge the outward actions of another and do the same in our minds we are as guilty as they are. For example, if we judge another as an adulterer and have lust in our own hearts, we condemn ourselves. Think about this, the principal root of judging is our own arrogant pride.
