As it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”(1 Corinthians 1:31)
Devotional
The apostle Paul is quoting the Prophet Jeremiah, “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.” Everything that we have comes from God. Our talents, abilities, intelligence and appearance are all endowed by the creator. Therefore there can be no boasting in them; they are gifts from God. We are simply to praise the Lord for every good thing that comes our way. Whether they came effortlessly or through great effort. Our Creator grants all. From the ability to work to the capacity to think all is from God. Let us therefore be thankful in our achievements; always realizing that they are God granted.Daily Reading
